Bio

Born in Waitara in the Taranaki Region of New Zealand, Rona moved to Perth at the age of eight where he played representative rugby union for Western Australia at the Under 15’s, Under 16’s and Schoolboy levels.
As a member of the Western Force Academy in 2009, Rona made the switch to rugby league where he scored a total of 39 tries in 53 appearances for a number of clubs between 2013 and 2016.
In 2017, Rona crossed the Nullarbor after signing with the Western Force, going on to make 14 appearances for the Perth-based side in the Vodafone Super Rugby competition that year.
His return to rugby was enough to impress Wallabies coach Michael Cheika, and was selected to make his international debut against the All Blacks in the first Bledisloe Cup match at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium where he scored his first Test try.
