NSW RUGBY SUPPORTS NSW GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCEMENT ON ALLIANZ STADIUM 9/12/2018 By NSW Rugby Media New South Wales Rugby Union (NSWRU) has welcomed the recent announcement by NSW Government of the appointment of a construction contractor for the redevelopment of Allianz Stadium. NSWRU Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Hore said: “The announcement yesterday from New South Wales Government that works on the new Allianz Stadium proceed is welcomed news. “Our NSW Waratahs proudly represent the whole State on the world stage every year and we are looking forward to a new home ground that will boast world-class facilities. “We have seen all sporting codes rallying together to ensure Sydney is not left behind in delivering sporting facilities that can position this city as a global sports destination. “Our fans are looking for more out of their sporting experience and want the facilities to match that – from accessibility, amenities, technology, comfort and overall entertainment. “Increasing attendance to Waratahs games contributes further in New South Wales Rugby Union’s endeavors to invest in the game at a community level, which helps the whole of the game. “We welcome the opportunity to work with the successful contractor to ensure that the new Allianz Stadium delivers a safe and enjoyable experience for all. “Together with Rugby Australia, we congratulate the NSW Government under Premier Gladys Berejiklian, which has shown strong vision and leadership in forging ahead with plans to deliver world-class stadiums for New South Wales."
