NSW Rugby today confirmed the management group for the 2019 Super W campaign.

Leading the coaching team is Matthew Evrard, who was the NSW Women’s team’s Super W Campaign Manager in 2018. Alongside him will be former Parramatta Two Blues forwards Coach Ben Evans and former Eastern Suburbs Shute Shield Head Coach and Assistant Coach, Campbell Aitken.

Evrard is a former Shute Shield Assistant Coach at Eastern Suburbs and in 2018 coached the NSW players in preparation for the Wallaroos’ International season. He also managed NSW Rugby’s Coach Education Department and has been a Development Manager in Sydney’s South, East and Inner West regions.

Evans, a former Welsh international, brings with him a wealth of experience. He was part of the coaching group of the Sydney University Women’s team that won the Jack Scott Cup in 2018 and will be coaching the students again in 2019. Evans also previously coached and played for the Waverley Rugby Club.

Aitken has been heavily involved in developing the Eastern Suburbs Women’s programme over the last three years. As a former player, he represented Scotland at junior level and went on to play club rugby in Europe.

Also joining the team in 2019 are Emma Lincoln-Smith, who has been appointed as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Lincoln-Smith is a former player and has been working with the Warringah Rugby Club for a number of years. She has also represented Australia at the Winter Olympics in the skeleton discipline.

Tara Dighton is the newly-appointed Team Physiotherapist. In her eight years’ experience in Sports Physiotherapy, she has worked extensively within women’s sport at national and State level across numerous sports as head physiotherapist.

Alice Pearlman returns as Team Doctor. Pearlman is an Emergency Physician by trade and did an exceptional job with the NSW Women’s team in the 2018 programme. Pearlman was also team doctor of NSW Country in the NRC this year and brings a wealth of experience to the Super W campaign.

A long-standing manager of the successful Sydney Women’s representative team between 2009 and 2017, Erin Morton returns to the NSW Women’s side as Team Manager. Morton has been involved in rugby in a number of roles, including in Team Operations and as Club President and Head Coach of the Warringah Ratettes.

After a decade with the Ratettes, Morton went on to manage the Sydney Women’s side in the 2017 Chikarovski Cup as well as the AON Uni Sevens competition. Morton is also the President of the Sydney Women’s Rugby Club and has been a member of the NSW Women’s Board since 2007.
