Eastwood stun the defending premiers, Southern Districts return to the winner’s circle and Sydney Uni proved once again that the Students are the real deal in 2018.

Catch up on all the round six Shute Shield action from the weekend.

West Harbour 61-22 Gordon

West Harbour continued their strong run of form with a dominant bonus point with over Gordon.

On a cold day at Concord, the Pirates forwards were far too big and strong for the Highlanders and charged over the advantage line to create space out wide for the West Harbour backs.

Front rowers David Lolohea and Andrew Tuala both scored five-pointers while winger Jack Sullivan claimed a hat-trick in the nine-try to three victories.

Gordon No.8 Tala Moli was a standout in a losing side and scored two tries, but it was little but consolation on another tough afternoon for the Highlanders.

They travel to face Southern Districts next weekend, while West Harbour takes on an in-form Eastwood side.

Northern Suburbs 28-17 Randwick

Northern Suburbs bounced back from a poor performance against West Harbour to claim an important 28-17 victory over Randwick at Coogee Oval in premiership-winning backrower James Brown’s last game for the club.

The Shoreman led 10-0 early before Randwick fought their way into the match and scored two tries to claim a 12-10 halftime lead and take momentum into the break.

Norths scored off the opening kick off in the second half to reclaim the lead and pushed further ahead when reserve prop Kali Tawake barged over.

Randwick centre Ben Starkey scored to reduce the deficit to eight points heading into the backend of the match, but an Angus Sinclair penalty goal sealed the result and a 28-17 away victory for Norths.
