The NSW Country Eagles were defeated by the Western Force 54 to 28 in their season opener in Perth. We caught up with Coach Darren Coleman to get his take on the game plus what lies ahead in Mudgee this Saturday against Melbourne.

Sydney kicked off their 2018 National Rugby Championship campaign against the Canberra Vikings. Here’s the word from inside the camp.

Sydney and NSW Country are set to launch into the 2018 NRC competition this coming weekend after a blockbuster Shute Shield Grand Final where we saw many NRC players involved.

NSW Waratahs forward, Michael Wells will combine his Vodafone Super Rugby duties with the Australian Men’s Sevens squad, under a new flexible contract arrangement agreed between Rugby Australia and NSW Rugby alongside Wells.
NSW has been gripped by all things finals, and on Saturday it is the turn of Western Plains and the Far North Coast to put on a show.
The NSW squads for this year’s National Rugby Championship (NRC) have been confirmed, featuring a mix of experienced internationals, promising youngsters and a familiar rugby league recruit.

The NRC will bring together some of the best young talent in NSW alongside outstanding club rugby players and NSW Waratahs.

In a boost for Colts rugby, NSW Rugby confirmed today that Sunday’s three finals will be streamed live. Rugby followers unable to make it to Concord Oval for the festival of finals on 2 September can watch all the action as it happens in the palm of their hands.

North Sydney Oval will be the backdrop on Saturday when Sydney University and Warringah take on each other in the final of NSW Rugby’s premier club competition.

Also on the finals menu at the Oval are the three other grade finals, which kick off at 0900.
The State’s young talent will be on display when the three-day NSW Primary Schools Sports Association (NSW PSSA) tournament is held in Coffs Harbour from 28-30 August at C.ex International Stadium.
In New South Wales, the traditional Sydney versus Country rivalry will be reborn with the famous blue and gold Sydney representative jersey coming out of retirement to be worn for the first time by the Sydney NRC team.
Hooker Damien Fitzpatrick confirmed today that he has extended his contract with the NSW Waratahs.
